Cover Under Eye Circles for $2 and learn why

Overall N.Y.C. is not my top makeup line of choice, like many cheap cosmetics, I find they don’t last very long and smudge like crazy.  But I must say that N.Y.C. cover stick in yellow works wonders covering up those awful purple circles I frequently get. The best part (besides the fact that it works well) is that you can find these at almost any drugstore for $1.99.  

The key to the effectiveness of the concealer lies in its yellow base…and the reason for this is the Color Wheel.  You may have learned about this is art class or perhaps never heard about this at all…so I’ll explain and try to keep it simple.  First take a look at the color wheel below:

The way the wheel works is simple,  the colors opposite each other complement each other or neutralize each other.  For example yellow is opposite purple.  Which is why yellow concealer is great for covering undereye circles…the yellow base in the makeup acts as a neutralizer over the purple tones in your under eye circles.

N.Y.C. also offers a good concealer for covering up blemishes in green.  Again the reason this works so well is that  red is opposite green on the color wheel and they neutralize each other.  So when you put a green concealer on a red blemish, then put foundation over it…it hides it so much better than just an ordinary concealer.
